MASTERPIECES OF GRAPHIC ART

Sverre Malling

Sverre Malling (b. 1977) is considered one of Norway's most important and distinctive visual artists, having revitalized drawing in Norwegian contemporary art from the early 2000s onwards. His figurative drawings, with their time-consuming detail, present a visual universe hinting at art and cultural historical references as well as contemporary trends in mass culture. Malling participated in the Autumn Exhibition at just 17 years old and completed his studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. He has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Norway and abroad, receiving excellent reviews. Malling's work has been acquired by major museums such as The British Museum, the National Museum, Astrup Fearnley, the North Norwegian Art Museum, Sørlandet Art Museum, Drammen Art Museum, Haugar Art Museum, Kistefos Museum, and a number of other prominent public and private collections in Norway.
