Summer is extra magical for children at Hadeland Glassverk!
Every day during the school summer holidays, we offer exciting activities and experiences for children and young visitors. There is always something fun to do, see and explore for the whole family.
The Children’s Farmyard
It wouldn’t be summer without the Children’s Farmyard!
Meet calves, goats, rabbits, chickens and donkeys – or enjoy a ride on horseback. Entry to the Children’s Farmyard is free, while horse riding costs NOK 60 per ride.
The Children’s Farmyard is open daily from 11 AM to 4 PM from June 27th. The horses take approximately a 30-minute break during the day and additional breaks when needed.
Blow your own glass
Blowing your own glass is an unforgettable experience for both children and adults! Watch how a glowing piece of molten glass transforms into a vase, drinking glass or honey jar – created entirely by you.
The activity takes place in the Glass Studio, and tickets can be purchased at the entrance.
The glass needs approximately 1.5 hours to cool down, so we recommend starting your visit with glassblowing. That way, your unique glass creation will be ready to take home before you leave.
Create your own glass mosaic
Every weekend, the Glass Studio transforms into a colourful creative workshop where both children and adults can explore their artistic side. Play with real pieces of glass and design your own small artwork – a personal and memorable experience to take home with you.
The activity is suitable for all ages and requires no previous experience – only creativity and curiosity. No registration needed, simply drop by and join in.
Dip colourful candles
At the Candle and Pewter Workshop, children can colour their own candles. This is a fun and creative activity for younger children. Choose from every colour of the rainbow and create your candles entirely by yourself.
The result turns out beautifully every time, and the candles make wonderful gifts for friends and family.
You can also design your own candles – let your creativity flow and paint your own unique creations.
Large outdoor play areas
At Hadeland Glassverk, you’ll find spacious and idyllic outdoor areas perfect for a family day out. Children can enjoy two recently renovated playgrounds, while benches and seating areas throughout the grounds invite you to relax with a cup of coffee or something delicious from one of our cafés or restaurants.
The playgrounds feature excavators, climbing frames, swings and slides – in other words, plenty of fun for children of all ages.
