Born in 2000 and based in Oslo, this artist mainly works with ceramics – in the borderland between functional items and sculptural objects. In her world, a cup can be a sculpture you drink from, and a sculpture can just as easily be an everyday object. She lets the clay's inherent qualities guide the process, allowing idea and expression to develop in harmony with the material. Her artistic practice revolves around people and their relationship to the world around them – how we are influenced by context and the past, and how we ourselves create ripple effects for the future. She draws inspiration from mythological and religious motifs that convey complex stories in simple forms, such as church frescoes, Greek amphorae, and stained glass. The bold colors and playful lines of expressionism also leave their mark on her work.
