Born in 1997 – based in Oslo. Bror Neby Hilland works to find the pause – that small space of stillness in the everyday. The moment when thoughts disappear and only a feeling remains. Through image-making, he seeks to translate this feeling onto a flat surface, a texture of presence, an imprint of time. His works revolve around the idea of the infinite in a midpoint, and what happens when the same movement is repeated, again and again, until the process takes over and everything else fades away. An immersion, a search for the wind – a place where it’s about sensing and surrendering to the act itself, the rhythm, and the flow of small decisions that ultimately form a whole. It is in this absorption – in the logic of repetition itself – that the images emerge.
