Born in 1982 – based in Tromsø. Eigil Forberg (b. 1982, Tromsø) works with abstract painting, mainly on wooden panels. His paintings are often presented in constellations—either by combining new and older panels, or by sawing up and rearranging a single panel. This methodology is a response to the limitations of the surface and its restricted ability to contain the infinite potential of painting. Forberg holds a bachelor’s degree from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art and a master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg (HFBK Hamburg). He has exhibited at, among others, Dropsfabrikken Gallery in Trondheim, KHÅK Kunsthall in Ålesund, LNM and Kösk in Oslo. He is currently working on a decoration project for Vikhammer Secondary School, and his works are included in the collections of Equinor, Sintef, Blå Kors, and Trondheim municipality, among others.
