Born 1994 – based in Oslo. Einar Sandvold grew up in rural surroundings in Raufoss, Toten. His passion for drawing started early and became a key foundation for his artistic development. At Einar Granum School of Fine Arts, he began to explore painting and found an expression he wanted to pursue further. Architectural forms are central to Sandvold’s work—as symbols of the solid and structured. Within these structures, an inner chaos emerges, with references to a personal and challenging past. His works explore the emotions that arise when the individual is pressed into society’s frameworks and boxes. Through a blend of brutalist and surrealist styles, Sandvold creates landscapes where past and present merge into a colorful, harmonious, and expressive universe. He continually works to challenge social structures and push the boundaries of personal freedom in art.
