Petter Malterud Grøndahl (b. 1989) – based in Oslo Christoffer Kroge Christensen (b. 1990) – based in Oslo The artist duo Guttestreker have been collaborating since a late-night drawing session in the fall of 2015. Their shared artistic vision quickly took shape, and the duo has since become a well-known name in Oslo’s art scene. Without formal art education, they have developed an unconventional approach to art, which they describe as illustrated philosophy. Their works are based on a science-driven understanding of the world. Each piece starts from a clear theme, rooted in scientific findings, historical events, or academic literature. Whether the subject is celebration, hunger, religion, or exploitation, the goal is to engage the viewer and inspire reflection on contemporary challenges. Their visual style is characterized by large, detailed compositions with dystopian scenes and clear thematic layers. This is combined with humorous figures, bold colors, and unusual perspectives—a conscious strategy to make the motifs accessible while also conveying insight and contemplation.
