Born in 1983 – based in Bergen. Heidi Berentzen (b. 1983, Kongsberg) is an artist based in Bergen, educated at the Bergen School of Art and the Bergen Academy of Art and Design. After a life-changing injury, she returned to painting—not just as a craft, but as a necessity to create meaning. She works with acrylic paint, but light is her true medium. Through a free and intuitive construction of large dots—developed as a response to physical limitations—she creates an abstracted expression akin to pointillism, but without its demands for precision or pure colors. Instead, she lets the colors blend organically, allowing the light to carry the story on the canvas.
