Lars August Stensli

Born 2000 – based in Oslo. Lars August Stensli is a Norwegian visual artist from Nesodden, now based in Oslo. He primarily works with painting and drawing, and has developed a distinctive style that combines expressionist brushstrokes with a strong interest in nature and human relationships. Stensli is self-taught and has quickly made a mark on the art scene with an intuitive approach to painting. His works are characterized by vibrant compositions and depict scenes from both urban and rural environments. His subjects range from landscapes and forest settings to intimate, everyday encounters between people—often with a poetic and dreamlike undertone. His works have been exhibited at venues including Galleri Hellviktangen, Galleri Duer, and KÖSK in Oslo. His paintings have been compared to works by Edvard Munch and Ludvig Eikaas, but with a modern approach that gives them clear relevance today. Stensli’s art invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between humans and nature, and between the inner and outer landscapes. Through the use of color and form, he creates an immediate emotional resonance. His works are represented in both public and private collections.
