Born 1974 – lives in Oslo. Line Marsdal was born and raised in Oslo, and today works full-time as an artist at the Purenkel gallery in Grünerløkka. She has a background in graphic design, photography, and printmaking, and mainly works with painting, digital graphics (DGA), and mixed media. Marsdal's art is characterized by a distinctive urban expression, often marked by rough surfaces and human figures seen from behind – as if we are viewing them through a wall of memories. The same figures are repeated in several works and gain new meanings in new contexts. For the summer exhibition at Hadeland Glassverk, Marsdal is showing mixed media works from the project The Reinvented Series. Here, she starts with her own DGA prints and further processes them with paint, pencil, chalk, and ink. The result is works that gain new life and new meaning – in a project that reflects both a mindset of reuse and a desire for creative development.
