Born 1986 – based in Bergen. Nicholas O’Leary is a Bergen-based artist who primarily works with oil painting. He paints from reality, where observation and nuance are central. With extensive experience as a painter, he takes the opportunity to bend the physical rules in his images, challenging the viewer’s perception of truth and deception, reality and fantasy. O’Leary works broadly within painting and has won international awards in portraiture, figurative painting, imaginative compositions, landscapes, cityscapes, and still lifes.
