Born in 1992 – based in Oslo. Rasmus Gaare works with several techniques and forms of expression, with a primary focus on drawing, painting, and sculpture. With a background from the Aarhus School of Architecture, Einar Granum School of Fine Art, and a bachelor’s degree in metal and jewelry art from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, he combines various disciplines in developing a personal and sensory style – both figurative and abstract. In his work, Gaare explores the inherent qualities of materials and how they can be transformed through different techniques and processes. He aims to create works that not only appeal visually, but also evoke a desire for physical touch and closeness – tactile objects that invite bodily experience. Gaare does not confine himself to a single theme, but is driven by a persistent interest in contrasts, structures, and the unpredictable dynamics of life. These elements form a common thread in his artistic practice, where he continually investigates the relationship between the visual, the material, and the reflective.
