Born in 1980 – lives in Trondheim. Ståle Gerhardsen is an artist and graphic designer, born and raised in Trondheim. After 15 years in the design industry – as a designer, festival director, author, speaker, and publisher – he decided to follow his dream and fully commit to his art. He has been drawing and spray-painting since his teens, and as a 17-year-old exchange student in Barcelona, he truly discovered what art could be. Inspiration from artists like Picasso and Dalí has since influenced his free and rule-breaking style. Gerhardsen has made his mark both in galleries and in public spaces, with solo exhibitions across the country and participation in group exhibitions in Norway and abroad. He has decorated buildings and institutions in, among other places, Trondheim, Bergen, Bodø, Kristiansand, Røros, Tromsø, London, Berlin, and Los Angeles. He mainly works with painting on canvas and walls, but also with screen printing, sculpture, and other forms of expression – depending on inspiration and opportunity.
