Produced at Porsgrunds porcelain factory in Porsgrunn, Norway. The Norgesglass with the characteristic Norge (Norway)- logo was first launched in 1902. It was a molded glass jar for airtight storage. The introduction of this product allowed Norwegian housewives to preserve food and drink for longer periods of time, and the Norge glass jar was to be found in practically every single household in the country. Over the years, the original design has remained the same. Today, with an ever-increasing focus on organic and homemade food, making use of fruits, berries and mushrooms fresh from the forest or the garden, the old, lidded jar has not only proved that it is here to stay.
